Trade and Investment in Namibia

The Ministry of Industrialization, Trade and SME Development, is tasked with spearheading trade and industrial development in Namibia, and perhaps more important, to promote and attract local and foreign investment. Appropriate mechanisms have also been established in order to pursue the policy of economic diplomacy.

Namibia offers investment opportunities in various areas and sectors. The country boasts an impressive rating as a competitive investment location. Besides its continuous ranking among the five most competitive economies in Africa by the World Economic Forum, Namibia also achieved a positive rating from the 2019 Fitch Ratings and a “BB+” Category Country Risk rating by the London-based Economic Intelligence Unit, the highest score achieved in sub-Saharan Africa.
