H.E. Julia Imene- Chanduru, Amb. Permanent Representative, Permanent Mission of the Republic of Namibia to the United Nations Office and other International Organizations in Geneva presented her letters of Credentials to H.E. Guy Parmelin, President of the Swiss Confederation in September 2021

 

Julia Imene-Chanduru, the newly appointed Permanent Representative of Namibia to the United Nations Office at Geneva, presented her credentials to Tatiana Valovaya, Director-General of the United Nations Office at Geneva, today.

Before assuming her role in Geneva, Ms. Imene-Chanduru served as Counsellor and Deputy Permanent Representative of Namibia to the United Nations in New York from December 2018 to November 2020. Prior to that, she held the position of Personal Assistant to the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of International Relations and Cooperation from May to December 2018, and served as the Deputy Director of the Ministry of International Relations and Cooperation from January 2015 to April 2018. With a career in diplomacy, Ms. Imene-Chanduru began her journey in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Namibia in 2004. She served as First Secretary at the Embassy of Namibia in Washington, D.C. from January 2007 to December 2011. Throughout her tenure at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, she held various positions, including Administrative Assistant to the Permanent Secretary, Chief Foreign Relations Officer, and Foreign Relations Officer.

Ms. Imene-Chanduru holds a bachelor’s degree in economics from the University of Namibia (2005) and a master’s degree in international service from the American University in Washington D.C., United States (2011). Born on September 10, 1979, she is married.
